Suggested Black Tie Optional, or Indian clothing
Men:
- Either a tuxedo or nice suit, shirt, and tie
- or nice Dhoti/Kurta Pyjama
Women:
- dressy cocktail dress
- a little black dress
- dressy separates
- formal (floor length) evening gown
- or a sari, salwar kameez, etc.
Saris are traditional for south indian weddings, but obviously if you are from the north or just prefer northern clothes that is fine as well.
You don't have to be indian to wear indian clothing! Either style is welcome. If you want to wear Indian clothing and don't currently have your own,
please contact Neil for advice and pointers on where to find good stores.
Tania and Neil will be wearing formal western wear for the Christian Ceremony. Tania will wear a sari and Neil a sherwani for the Hindu ceremony.
The Hindu ceremony will be outside on a lawn (weather permitting). Please wear shoes with comfort on grass in mind. The forecast in San Jose for late April can be anywhere from the low 60s to 90 degrees, so women might want to bring a wrap.
